Performance built in

All the components in the WPF studio have been built from the ground up with performance in mind. For example, the DataGrid control can easily handle millions of rows of data with features like grouping, filtering, sorting, and conditional formatting, all while receiving thousands of updates per second. We have pushed the boundaries that WPF offers and have not overlooked a single opportunity to improve performance.

Solving real problems

All components in the toolkit solve real problems; we never include controls just to increase the total count. Every component has been built as a solution to a real problem that developers face when creating enterprise applications.

Richest feature set

Every component in our WPF studio offers rich functionality beyond what other competing solutions offer. For example, all data grids offer functionality to export to Excel, but in reality just export to HTML and rename the file with an .XLS extension, which causes a lot of problems to the end user, such as displaying security alerts and incorrect formatting. In comparison, the Syncfusion DataGrid control contains over 100,000 lines of code to provide accurate exporting to Excel.

Exclusive controls

There are several controls in the WPF studio—such as the Diagram, OlapChart, and PDF Viewer controls, as well as Excel, Word, and PDF reporting—that are exclusive to the Syncfusion toolkit and cannot be found in competing offerings. These exclusive controls make the Syncfusion WPF studio a perfect complement to all other toolkits. For example, you can use XlsIO to import data from Excel into another vendor’s data grid that does not offer this functionality natively.

MVVM Compatible

All components have been built from scratch for the WPF framework and include several features and enhancements to make it easy to build applications adhering to the MVVM design pattern.

Grid Data Control

The GridData control for WPF is the most advanced data grid available in the market with unmatched performance and versatility. Its advanced feature set is exposed through a powerful yet easy-to-use API with countless customization options. You can easily get started data-binding the grid to any data source; format the data with a rich selection of cell types; and enable editing, sorting, filtering, and grouping within a few minutes. The seamless editing experience rivals that of Microsoft Excel itself. The GridData control has been designed especially for the WPF platform and makes use of all the nuances the platform has to offer. It is also MVVM compatible.

Grid Control

The cell-oriented Grid control is a very efficient display engine for tabular data that can be customized down to the cell level. It does not make any assumptions about the structure of the data. It can be used in a virtual manner where the data is provided on demand in real time, or it can be used in a manner where the Grid control maintains the data within its own internal structures. The Grid control supports frozen rows and columns; Excel-like formulas; covered cells; various cell-control types; copy–paste; both row selections and cell-range selections; hidden rows and columns; and virtually an unlimited number of rows and columns.

Spreadsheet

Essential Spreadsheet is a control for viewing and editing Microsoft Excel files in a familiar Excel-like interface without Excel installed. It combines some of our most popular components like our Grid control, Ribbon control, formula engine, and others to create a first of its kind offering for WPF for viewing and editing Excel files.

Grid Tree Control

The GridTree control is a grid that displays self-referencing lists in a multicolumn tree format. The data is loaded on demand so that large lists can be quickly displayed. Direct support for a classic tree look is provided, but it also gives you the ability to easily customize the look of the tree with special glyphs and icons. Exceptional performance is possible such that thousands of nodes can be expanded or collapsed instantaneously.
